This work aims to produce and accumulate useful knowledge on the Moroccan labor market, in particular the situation of the youth whose traits have been extensively documented. The areas covered relate to the capacity of the educational and training systems to transmit technical and non-technical skills (soft skills) to the youth in their educational and training paths, the role of employment programs in qualification and retraining employment of the youth and working people for better adaptation to the shifting needs of the economy in terms of skills, the capacity of the economy to create permanent and decent jobs for young graduates, the means of promoting the social inclusion of young people deprived education and training (in a NEET situation, not in employment, education or training), etc..

The idea behind this work embraces the ambition of OCP Policy Center (now the Policy Center for the New South), a Moroccan "policy-oriented" think tank, whose mission is to contribute to deepening knowledge and enriching reflection on economic and international relations issues that are of major importance for the economic and social development of Morocco, and more broadly for that of the African continent.

On the analytical level, the book provides new grids for reading the functionality of the labor market and the configuration of the relationship between education, training and employment, thanks to adequate theoretical frameworks. On the empirical level, the work carried out mobilizes original data and enables a dynamic approach to unemployment.
