About
Founded in 1982, this non-administrative public institution operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines and is mandated to undertake all actions relating to standardization, product, and service quality, as well as the protection of industrial property.
The agency bundles and coordinates all work, studies and surveys conducted in the various aforementioned fields and provides information and training, while deciding on the general program for standard setting. Hence, it issues invention patents and registers industrial trademarks and designs.
